Penn State York engages in a variety of fund-raising activities designed to provide extra support for students, faculty, staff, and facilities. Solicitations are made to area business and industry, alumni and friends for current and deferred gifts. Current areas of emphasis for fund raising include: student scholarships; faculty endowments; facilities improvements and upgrades; and community partnership programs.
Joshua Lindeman, business banker with Susquehanna Back and Crawford McFerran, regional president with Susquehanna Bank, present a check for $30,000 to Di Hershey, director of development at Penn State York. This generous donation established the first Renaissance Fund at the campus and meets the minimum endowment requirement for the fund. The York Renaissance Fund is dedicated to students who begin their Penn State journey at Penn State York. This fund will provide a Penn State York student with about $1,500 per year at current endowment spending rates. The scholarship can be renewed each year for up to eight semesters.
