Prior to his time at Penn State York, Ryan worked at both the undergraduate admissions office at Penn State University Park and Penn State Berks.

Ryan has a passion for higher education, and believes it is a gateway for student to begin the next stage in their lives. A Penn State degree offers the benefits of a world class research institution, a vibrant student life, and the opportunity to major in over 160 baccalaureate programs at twenty different campuses. Ryan has traveled all over the country for Penn State, and wherever he has gone, he has seen representation of more than 600,000 living alumni who hold Penn State degrees.

Ryan believes fit is critical to student success in college. Students should think about what they want to study, how far away from home they wish to be, campus population, cost of an education, and support after graduation when making their college decision.

Additionally, she teaches a leadership development class that is a required course for student Lion Ambassadors. In her role as transfer admissions counselor, LeighAnn advises students who have completed courses at another college or university and wish to pursue a Penn State degree.
