Students entering the Penn State graduate program can secure several certifications in the area of early childhood.
Students pursuing a master of education degree and securing four identified early childhood courses may be eligible for an Early Childhood Certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Required Courses
- EDUC 401: Introduction to Early Childhood Education
- EDUC 403: Curriculum for Early Childhood
- EDUC 404: Early Childhood Education
- EDUC 410: The Child and Social Institutions
Students with a bachelor’s degree may enroll in a series of Early Childhood courses that allow advancement on the Pennsylvania Key Career Lattice or meet specific job requirements.
