Step 1) The Application
Future Penn State students must apply online at http://admissions.psu.edu/. To do so create a MyPennState account. This account is your one-stop shop for customizing your Penn State admissions experience. Your MyPennState will be an admission account that will allow you to apply online, receive messages, check the status of your application and accept your offer.
* Make sure you remember your user ID and password.
Step 2) Application Status
Penn State has rolling admissions, which means there is no deadline for applying. However, the evaluation of transfer applications does lengthen the review period, so transfer students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
The Undergraduate Admissions Office strives to evaluate undergraduate applications as quickly as possible. You can check the status of your application by logging into your MyPennState account.
Recommended Application Deadline:
- To begin in the fall semester (August) - May 1
- To begin in the spring semester (January) - October 15
Step 3) Sending official high school and college transcripts:
Request an official high school transcript along with all post-secondary schools (s) attended and have it sent to the University Park Admissions Office at:
The Undergraduate Admissions Office
The Pennsylvania State University
201 Shields Building, Box 3000
University Park, PA 16802-1294
* While the admissions decision is based on college performance, we need a high school transcript to verify graduation and ensure that the minimum admissions requirements are met.
