Penn State York baseball coach and the York Revolution’s all-time home run leader, Jason Aspito, will join the team’s Fan Fest celebration on Saturday, April 21 to help raise money for the Penn State York baseball team.

Aspito will hold a special pre-game home run derby before the Revolution take on an All-Star team of Susquehanna and Central League players at 1 p.m.  The gates at Sovereign Bank Stadium will open at noon, with the home run derby at 12:30.  All the proceeds will go to the Penn State York baseball program.  Aspito has been the head baseball coach at Penn State York since 2010

Playing for the Revolution from the inaugural season in 2007 through 2009, Aspito established the franchise record for home runs, both career and single season, with 42 in a York Revolution s uniform and 24 in the first playoff season of 2008.  Aspito was also named the team’s most valuable player that year.
Upon his retirement from the professional game after the 2009 season, Aspito took over the Penn State York baseball program while continuing to play for Red Lion in the Susquehanna League during the summer.  Aspito also spent time in the White Sox and Angels organizations during his playing career, ascending to Triple-A.
“Anything that helps grow the game of baseball in York County, we’re all for,” said Revolution President & General Manager Eric Menzer.  “We were pretty excited when Jason approached us with the idea to fundraise for his team, it was a chance to bring back one of our all-time great players for an event to help another baseball team in town.  It’s something we’re happy to do.”
Full plans for the Revolution’s Fan Fest on April 21 will be revealed shortly.  The event is presented by WGTY Great Country 107.7.
